Last night after dinner I didn’t feel satisfied. Last night after dinner I didn’t feel satisfied. I sat there with a tummy that wasn’t quite full. “But it’s so close to bed time.” “You’ve ate so good today don’t ruin it now.” “You can’t have carbs before bed.” “You’ll go over your calorie count.” “This doesn’t fit in with your macros.” “I just won’t eat breakfast tomorrow.” “Maybe I should go run on the treadmill.” These were all thoughts that would go through my head during my eating disorder. I would ignore my growling stomach and listen to the thoughts in my head. Telling myself it was just discipline and not depravation. I still struggle with guilt some days don’t get me wrong (#workinprogress). I didn’t know how much I needed the beach until I didn’t know how much I needed the beach until I was there this week. Life has been so hectic lately! Hence why we’ve been a little MIA. I’ll start off by saying I went into the week with a different mindset than I ever have before going on a beach vacation and it for sure had a different outcome. Going to therapy for my eating disorder has taught me so much about a balanced lifestyle and not just with food. I’ve allowed (and sometimes forced) my very structured self to go with the flow more. It’s REAL nice. My meals during the last week ranged from healthy quinoa bowls from @picnicbeachal and the like or an epic milkshake from @theyardmilkshakebar. We took long walks on the beach, danced to live music, sat with our feet in the ocean for hours on end, and took naps in the middle of the day. It was perfect and it did the soul good.
