Did you miss us? We sure missed you! We needed to take a little 6 week hiatus because #momlife got the best of both of us. But we are back and ready to party! To kick us off, we’ve got our first room tour of the Green Garden House, which is Abbie’s house. It’s green and has a garden and I just really enjoy the idea of houses having names, ok? Hehe.
Overall, I’d consider the GGH modern traditional, with touches of farmhouse charm. The bedroom, though, leans more modern romantic with the mix of blush pink and metallic finishes. I just adore this space. I honestly don’t know how Abbie/Alex/Henry/Daphne (Daph is their pup) ever pry themselves from this cozy fluffiness of a bed. When I get a house bigger than 900 sq ft one day, the first thing I’m getting is a king size bed like theirs. That thing is ginormous and fits, on average, 5 people for movie night.
The dresser and mirror are restored antiques from a local shop (similar ones linked below). Don’t be afraid to mix different finishes and wood colors — the less matchy-matchy, the better!
We added these curtain panels to the room just recently which give it such a sweet Parisian feel. Their house has high ceilings, so the small stripe pattern helps to keep the room from feeling cold and empty.
One of my favorite tips to soften and add texture to any room is to add random baskets filled with fluffy blankets and pillows overflowing it. There’s no better way to make people think you’re fancy than by having a perfectly quaffed blanket strategically placed on the floor, am I right?
The little ensuite was the perfect opportunity to add a pop with wallpaper. Peel-and-stick is the way to go and can make any space more exciting in literally less than an hour.
(P.S. if you zoom in close to the reflection in the chest, that’s little miss doing her stretches on the bench lol)
The simplicity and warmth of this room is so tranquil — it’s the ultimate unwind haven. Before I bought my house I tried to get Abbie to sell me hers, specifically because I love the bedroom so dang much. Now to jump on the bed and get it back looking like it normally does!
If you’re wondering why one side of the bed is empty, that’s where Henry’s bassinet was. Abbie has since added a tall plant in that space. Every room needs a plant or three! 😉
